Gadsden City will be treating this game as a tune-up for the playoffs.

But Hewitt-Trussville will be treating it as a playoff game after a fifth-place finish in its region.

“This is a good rivalry,” Titans coach Joe Billingsley said. “It’s an opportunity to play a good team before the playoffs. Hewitt is always good and they’ll be playing their final game of the year, so it’ll be like a playoff game to them. We’ll have to play four good quarters to win.”

This is the first year that Hewitt isn’t in the same region as Gadsden City.

In Week 6, the Huskies lost a one-point heartbreaker to Shades Valley. Had they found the two points needed to win that game, they would be in the postseason.

“They’re really a playoff-caliber team,” Billingsley said. “So we can go in and find out what we need to work on for the first round.”

The Titans’ first-round opponent will be Region 8 No. 1 seed Bob Jones on Nov. 9.

Last week against Huntsville, quarterback C.J. Moore went 2-for-7 in passing for 129 yards.
