The City of Attalla Council chambers were packed to overflowing Nov. 5 as the once and current mayor of the city took the oath of office.
Larry Means was elected Mayor in this summer’s municipal election, returned to a post he held before he ran for and was elected to the Alabama Senate.
Means served 12 years in the Senate and was defeated by Republican Phil Williams in the last election.
Means’ last bid for his Senate seat came a short time after he was indicted in the 2010 bingo corruption case. Means was not convicted on any charges that had been leveled against him.
Along with Means, council members Kenneth Scissum, Kenneth Dixon and Terry McClain took their oaths of office.
