Westbrook tennis teams compete at state tournament

The Westbrook Christian girls and boys tennis teams took eighth and 10th place, respectively, at the Class 1A-3A state tournament on Monday and Tuesday (Apr. 21-22) in Montgomery.

The Lady Warriors finished with 14 points, while the Warriors totaled eight.

Gadsden State sophomore basketball point guard Lacey Buchanon recently was named a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-American. Lady Panthers top Hokes Bluff for county softball title

The Southside High softball team made short work of the opposition in the Etowah County Schools Tournament last weekend at SHS.

The Class 5A No. 3 Lady Panthers (27-6) opened with a 10-0 victory over defending championship Sardis on Friday (Apr. 18), then followed up on Saturday with a 9-1 win over Hokes Bluff.
