The Chamber, Gadsden & Etowah County announced more of the entertainment lineup for Riverfest 2013: Reluctant Saints has been added as opening act on May 31, along with headlining 1980s rock great Styx.
Etowah County’s own Jeremy Jackson Band has been added to the June l lineup – the first band announced for that evening’s entertainment.
Reluctant Saints was nominated last year for the Georgia Music Awards Best Country Band. The group features four vocalists and an award-winning slide guitarist, according to a press release from The Chamber.
Jeremy Jackson has described his distinctive sound as “alt-country” and it has driven several bands: including Luster (1998-2001) and Mozaik Salvo (2001-2002) which developed into Subcurrent (2003-2009).
Subcurrent garnered attention from major label band Fuel, as they searched for a lead singer and considered Jeremy among several other seasoned voices of rock and roll.
In 2008, Jackson began spitting his time with popular local band, the Blinders, while constantly sharpening his solo vision. In 2011, Jeremy split from the Blinders to form the beginnings of The Jeremy Jackson Band.
Riverfest 2013 is May 31 and June 1.
