Tickets on sale for Sunset Sips

On an October evening last year, some 250 people dined, drank and savored a beautiful sunset from the Broad Street Bridge in Downtown Gadsden.

Downtown Gadsden Inc. invites you to do the same this year, on Oct. 15.

The Broad Street Bridge will be closed to traffic and opened to anyone who wants to enjoy food from the Fish Market, beverages from Back Forty Brewery and the Stone Market and Frios Gourmet Pops, with entertainment from musicians, artists and Sam the Balloon Man.

The event is from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

“The Memorial Bridge is the perfectly unique venue for a night full of fun with friends over the Coosa River watching the sunset,” DGI Executive Director Kay Moore said.

Sunset Sips is DGI’s major fundraising event. Last year, the event was initiated as a way to capitalize on the Coosa River that runs through Gadsden, and to raise money for the banners that now grace lampposts on Broad Street.
