Two very good defenses will butt heads in this game.

“(Auburn) has the best defense I’ve seen this year,” Gadsden City coach Matt Scott said. “Everybody on that side of the ball is really good. I can see no weaknesses.”

The Tigers have allowed 78 points through four games while the Titans have given up only 41.

“Our guys are stepping up when they have to,” Scott said. “But we’ve got to get better at stopping the run. Teams are having big drives on us but we’re stopping them from scoring.

“Everybody’s talking about our great stops, but [the opponent’s offense] shouldn’t be down there in the first place.”

Albertville last week ended the game with a lengthy drive, converting several third and fourth-downs along the way, including a fourth-and-25.

“A lot of times when a team gives up a fourth-and-long, they collapse,” Scott said. “I can say that about our guys – they didn’t quit after that.”

Scott hopes the long trip to Auburn will show the kids what to expect out of a long trip should it happen during the playoffs.

“For them to see the type of routine needed for a long trip will help us if it comes up again this year,” he said.

Against the Aggies, Sloan Tyler went 6-for-10 in passing for 60 yards.

Dante Rudolph rushed for 76 yards on 15 carries, while Gabriel Ford ran eight times for 66 yards.
