First Friday will salute veterans

First Friday in November will be a salute to veterans, Downtown Gadsden Inc. Executive Director Kay Moore said.

Everyone is invited to participate, wearing their red, white and blue to honor all those who served the nation in the armed forces.

The Gadsden State Show Band will perform at the Mary G. Hardin Center for Cultural Arts, and those with military vehicles are invited to display them.

Downtown merchants will be encouraged to decorate their stores in patriotic colors.

As there will be no veterans parade in downtown Gadsden, this year, this First Friday event will give people the opportunity to show their support for veterans.

As always, First Friday will feature vendors and entertainment, and downtown merchants will be open late with sales and specials for the event.

Upcoming downtown events include the return of the Let It Snow exhibit at the Mary G. Hardin Center for Cultural Arts from Nov. 21 – Jan. 31; the Downtown Gadsden Christmas Open House Nov. 21 – 23; and the North Pole Stroll/First Friday on Dec. 6.
