At FLD, the one thing we hope we never get good at is leaving well enough alone.
Ever since the day this company was founded in 1986, it has been evolving to meet new challenges and new demands.
We started out as just a landscaping design firm and quickly decided we wanted to move out of the abstract and be a part of bringing those designs to life.
As time went on, we gradually added more services to our menu – irrigation, lawn and garden maintenance, outdoor lighting, etc. – until our little design firm had become a one-stop, full-service landscape company. In 2008, we added a retail garden shop for those gardeners after our own heart that love getting their hands in the dirt and doing the work themselves.
Each time FLD has charted new territory, our team has maintained a high bar of quality by seeing that one thing remains the same: our commitment to answering the needs of our clients in the most complete and individual way we can.
We get to know our clients and the goals they are trying to accomplish, because only then can we collaborate with them toward an end result that achieves those goals.
With that commitment in mind, we are also constantly on the lookout for ways to improve upon the services we offer.
We’ve recently developed a new Lawn Health Program to manage turfgrass quality using more targeted methods and fewer chemicals, and we have implemented an irrigation audit service that offers water and money saving suggestions to people with existing sprinkler systems.
In the coming months and years, FLD has yet more change in store. We are implementing new, more convenient ways for our clients and garden shop patrons to pay bills and keep up with their purchases through paperless statements, online bill payment options, and garden shop receipts that go straight to your inbox or cell phone.
This spring, we will begin offering our Hands in the Dirt series of hands-on classes for adults and children at the garden shop. It’s going to be an exciting year full of new challenges, just the way we like it.
There’s always a new leaf to turn over, whether it’s a new type of product or service, an innovative way of approaching a project or a technology that can make our clients’ lives a little easier. We know that in order to stay on top of our game year after year, we have to keep growing and changing in the way we do business, but FLD’s values, principles, and commitment to quality remain the same.
