Start a new chapter in your life at Regency Pointe

The best things in life are free.

Just ask Bill and Judy Fulford, whose move to Regency Pointe provided them a worry-free lifestyle that allowed them to spend more time with the important people in their lives – each other.

Seven years ago, Bill and Judy decided to sell their large, historic home and moved into a two-bedroom apartment home at Regency Pointe, the premier senior-living community in the South.

They turned the page on a new exciting chapter in their lives together.

Neither Bill nor Judy was looking for love when they found each other. As a matter of fact, it took them by surprise.

“I told myself that if the Lord wants me to marry again, He’ll have to send me someone, because I’m not looking,” said Judy.

Judy (Tidwell) was born and raised in Gadsden. She graduated from Gadsden High School and Jacksonville State University.

She was a stay-at-home mom for 21 years, worked for Baptist Hospital and later for Gadsden State Community College from 1984 to 1998.

Bill was born and raised in Dawson, Ga. After receiving bachelors and masters degrees from Auburn University, he taught and coached high school for one year before joining the military.

Following his service, Bill enjoyed a long career with the YMCA, including positions in Atlanta, Ga., Richmond, Va., and Rome, Ga. He took over the Gadsden YMCA in 1984 and retired in 1991.

Bill and Judy befriended each other through a bible study at First Baptist Church of Gadsden.

For three years they accompanied each other on outings, visited antique stores and took short day trips.

Their friendship grew into love, and they are now sharing their 15th year of marriage together.

Regency Pointe offered Bill and Judy the opportunity to have more time together and worry less about the stress of maintaining a large home.

“We love it,” Bill exclaimed. Having a professional staff nearby eases their minds as they grow older.

“Services such as dining, housekeeping, activities and transportation are excellent,” Bill said.

“The staff is like family and constantly look for ways to care for the residents.”

“Yes, having someone else cook is big for me,” Judy joked. “Regency Pointe makes dinner and Bill makes breakfast, so I’ve pretty much got it made!”

Bill and Judy discovered a new start when they fell in love and discovered a new life when they moved to Regency Pointe.
