Christmas at the Falls opened on Thanksgiving night at Noccalula Falls park in Gadsden. The event will be held every day, except Christmas Eve and Christmas, until Dec. 27, as long as the weather permits. The hours for Christmas at the Falls are from 5 to 10 p.m.

Tickets for Christmas at the Falls are only $6. Children age 3 or younger get in free. Tickets are available for pre-sale at 4 p.m.

Christmas at the Falls has become a local holiday tradition. The millions of lights make the park glow from the road. The lights are synchronized to holiday music and many mimic popular holiday scenes, like the North Pole complete with penguins or Santa’s Workshop.

One of the biggest attractions is the train ride, which allows visitors to see all the lights. The conductors of the trains give a tour of the scenes, narrating throughout the ride.

Another fun attraction at Christmas at the Falls is the petting zoo, where visitors can pet or view a fascinating array of local wildlife.

Children also can visit with Santa. Letters to Santa can be written and mailed in the old post office.

There will be cookie decorating for $3 a cookie or two for $5. Santa’s Favorite Cocoa Shop will be open to provide warm drinks.

On Saturday, Dec. 12, Christmas at the Falls will host Ronald McDonald and Friends. Ronald McDonald, Princess Noccalula, The Grinch, The Minions, Snow White, Princesses Elsa and Anna, Olaf and more will visit from 4 to 6 p.m.

On Dec. 20, an additional event will take place. There will be a “Twas the Night Before Christmas” storytime with milk and cookies. Storytime will be held at 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Storytime will be held in the Kiwanis Building at Noccalula Falls Park. Tickets are $4 each or four for $12. Tickets are limited and went on sale Thanksgiving night.
