Authorizing Conveyance of Certain Property

Whereas, the City of Gadsden owns the following described property located at 1021 7th Avenue:
Lot One (1) in Block Seventeen (17) as shown on the map of Gadsden Land and Improvement Company Kyle Addition, as recorded in Plat Book “A”, Page 23, Probate Office, Etowah County, Alabama.

Whereas, Shemeka Parker originally purchased the property through a United States Department of Housing and Urban Development program administered by the City; and
Whereas, the City subsequently acquired the property from Shemeka Parker through a mortgage foreclosure; and
Whereas, Shemeka Parker has continued to reside on the property under a rental lease agreement with the City; and
Whereas, the accumulated rental payments by Shemeka Parker have now exceeded the value of the property.

No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The bidder must comply with all requirements of the public works bid law Section 39-2-1 et seq,, Code of Alabama 1975.
