Glencoe’s Daugherty signs with Birmingham Southern
Glencoe high school linebacker T.J. Daugherty signed a football scholarship to Birmingham-Southern College on May 17 during a special ceremony in the Glencoe High School library.
Daugherty was third in Etowah County in overall tackels in 2011 with 127. The senior made 18 stops for a loss with three sacks.

Sardis hires Sandlin for volleyball, basketball

A familiar face is returning to the coaching scene in the Sand Mountain and Etowah County areas.
Scott Sandlin, a one-time head coach of the women’s basketball program at Snead State in Boaz, is the new varsity girls basketball coach and varsity girls volleyball coach at Sardis High School. The Etowah County Board of Education approved
