Coosa hurler signs with Miles

Coosa Christian High School senior pitcher Hunter Wood signed a baseball scholarship to Miles College during a ceremony at the high school’s band room at noon on May 29.

The hard-throwing Wood joins former Coosa battery mate Justin Langdale, who signed with Miles College at the end of last season.

Emma Sansom alumnus takes Ashville grid job

Emma Sansom High School graduate Mark O’Bryant was recently named head varsity football coach at Ashville High School.

O’Bryant served as offensive coordinator for Oxford High School in 2011. The Yellow Jackets finished 12-2 last season, outscoring their opponents 529-348.
