Catholic Center begins charitable holiday projects

The Catholic Center of Concern in downtown Gadsden will provide Christmas gifts for about 800 children in northeast Alabama this year through their Toys for Tots program.

By partnering with Rainbow City’s McLaughlin Detachment of the Marine Corps, the Center will be able to give each of these children a gift bag worth between $50 and $80.

Patriots Museum holds dedication

Community leaders and local veterans and their families gathered on Nov. 6 at Ola L. Mize Patriots Park, adjacent to Noccalula Falls Park, for the ribbon cutting and dedication of the Gadsden-Etowah Patriots Museum.

The eight-sided structure will feature displays in eight window boxes, always visible to the public.

GSCC students team with NASA for project

An excited group of Gadsden State students and two instructors headed to Houston Thursday (Nov. 7) to spend time working with NASA scientists as they test the process their team developed for delivering water to hydroponic systems in a zero gravity atmosphere.
