Cardinal newcomers must step up

Last season, the Gadsden State men’s basketball team came within one game of qualifying for nationals.
Coach Todd Ginn’s 2012-13 squad was loaded with sophomores, giving the Cardinals plenty of experience throughout the season, which led to a 23-8 record. Gadsden State lost to Shelton State in the Alabama Community College Conference Tournament.

Three local soccer squads win state, one is runner-up in Montgomery

The Fall Division II State Cup is compiled of boys and girls teams in five different age groups from ages 14-19. All four Gadsden-area Fusion Futbol Club teams qualified for the final four tournament in Montgomery this past weekend (Nov. 9-10), with all four teams making it to Sunday’s championship games.
