Panthers fall to Oxford in 6A debut

Oxford pulled out a couple more big plays than did Southside on Thursday.

Gadsden’s Adkison inducted into Central Alabama softball hall of fame
Gadsden resident Pat Adkison was inducted into the Central Alabama Softball Association 2014 Hall of Fame on Aug. 16 in Birmingham.
Adkison’s softball career began in 1952 as a player. He started with fast pitch in Samson as a catcher and later played fast pitch in Tuscaloosa.

Lloyd Wagnon and the early Noble family
The Vagabond recently spoke with Lloyd Wagnon, who manages to still keep a busy life.
After becoming Alabama’s youngest Registered Professional Land Surveyor in 1949, Wagnon entered private practice in Gadsden. Through the years, he designed and executed many of the area’s finest residential subdivisions and established many land boundaries throughout Etowah County.
