Lions come up short at Saks

Saks defeated Sardis, 34-7, on Friday in Anniston.
On Sardis’ opening drive, quarterback Logan Gaskin flipped the ball out to Jesse Hubbard, who picked up 53 yards down to Saks’ 12-yard line, highlighting a drive that ended with a missed field-goal attempt.
The Wildcats weren’t so lucky the next time the Lions got the football.
Panthers, Conquerors come up short

Chelsea defeated Southside, 16-13, on Friday at CHS.
The Panthers (1-2) open Class 6A, Region 7 schedule next week with a home game against Arab.
Coosa Christian lost to Valley Head, 53-21, in a Class 1A, Region 7 game on Friday in Gadsden.
The Conquerors (0-2, 0-1) take on another region rival next week in Jacksonville Christian.
