Kerry Criswell, a Marine Corps veteran, has opened a snow cone store at Noccolula Falls Park. Rainbow Tropical Sno held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Sept. 11.

Attalla Fall Festival a healthy success

The Attalla Fall Festival was held on Sept. 17 at Carnes Recreation Center. Hosted by the Council on Aging and the Attalla Senior Program, the annual event draws hundreds of seniors for entertainment, free information health screenings and more. This year’s theme was about farmers, so seniors showed up in overalls, straw hats and cowboy boots. Tickets
Habitat will host Blitz Build
The Alabama Power Service Organization (APSO) will frame House #46 in a one-day blitz build for Gadsden-Etowah Habitat for Humanity on Friday, September 26 beginning at 7 a.m. The four-bedroom, two-bath house is located at 300 Summit Avenue and is the future home of Robert and Jessica McArthur and their five children.
