Attalla’s Treasures in the Streets returns

Attalla’s Treasures in the Streets Antique Show will be held Friday and Saturday September 11 and 12 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. in downtown Attalla at 5th Ave. Northwest and 4th Street.
The biannual event is held every spring and fall. It takes places in rain or shine and is free to attend.

County Commission addresses courthouse security

There was a full house at the Etowah County Commission meeting this past Tuesday. Employees from all over the county courthouse were present like Sheriff Todd Entrekin and Revenue Commissioner Linda Barrett Vaughn.

New Gadsden store provides blank clothes

Jenny Sollie is the owner and founder of Blossom Blanks, a wholesale supplier of quality “blank” clothes. The blanks are then sold to stores or businesses that monogram or print designs on to them.
Although mainly a wholesale store, the blanks are sold at a retail price in the storefront on Chestnut.

Pow wow to be held at Noccalula Falls

The 2nd Annual Noccalula Falls Pow Wow will take place tomorrow on Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6 at Noccalula Falls from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Colors will be posted at noon.
Admission is $5 for an adult, $10 for a family, $2 for seniors 65 or older and $2 for children age 6

Main Street Alabama recently celebrated Designated Communities successes on a special day in honor of the organization, as proclaimed by Governor Robert Bentley. Main Street Alabama’s President and State Coordinator, Mary Helmer, announced the winners of the Main Street Alabama Awards of Excellence at the Capital City Club in downtown Montgomery with former President of the National Main Street
