Panthers open area play with win over Albertville

A seven-run outburst in the top of the sixth inning propelled Southside High to a 9-2 triumph over Albertville in the Class 6A, Area 13 baseball opener for both squads on Tuesday (Mar. 22) at AHS.

Cardinals’ Brown named ACCC Pitcher of the Week
Gadsden State sophomore Karlee Brown was named the Alabama Community College Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for March 14-20. Brown pitched three complete games for an earned run average of 0.36 while helping the Lady Cardinals go 3-0. She struck out eight batters while only allowing four walks. Brown currently owns a 16-8 record.
