Gadsden attorney Gregory Cusimano was honored as the 2015 Pillar of the Bar. The award was presented by the Etowah County Chapter of the American Inns of Court.

Judge David Kimberley presented the award to Cusimano at The Fish Market on October 25.

Cusimano graduated from the University of Alabama in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science from the School of Commerce and Business Administration and the University of Alabama School of Law in 1968.

Cusimano has practiced for 30 years and remained in good standing with the bar throughout.

During the award ceremony and banquet, local attorneys and friends of Cusimano shared stories about him and his practice of law.

“I have seen him lose a lot of money to do the right thing,” said attorney Emily Hawk Mills. “I was always impressed.”

Kimberley mentioned that Cusimano was highly distinguished. Cusimano has been the recipient of over 20 awards, has been published approximately 20 times and regularly gives lectures at law schools.

Cusimano thanked everyone for coming and for giving him this award.

“There is no honor as significant as the one from those who know you,” said Cusimano. “This is an honor I will cherish.”
