All six Etowah County high school softball teams failed to make it out of the regional tournaments this past weekend.

In the Class 3A South Central Regional in Troy, fourth-ranked Glencoe advanced to the playback bracket final, where the Lady Yellow Jackets lost to Susan Moore by a score of 5-3 to finish in third place. Glencoe opened the tournament with a 3-1 win over Montevallo, followed by a 3-0 win over Trinity Presbyterian. The Lady Jackets then fell to White Plains, 6-0, in the winner’s bracket semifinals. Glencoe then exited the tournament with its loss to Susan Moore.

In the Class 5A North Regional in Huntsville, Southside went 2-2, while Etowah went 1-2. The third-ranked Lady Panthers lost Muscle Shoals, 6-4, then battled back with a 12-0 win over Brewer and a 4-1 victory over Scottsboro. In a rematch with Muscle Shoals, however, Southside lost, 4-1, to end its season. The Lady Blue Devils opened with a 13-3 loss to Athens before beating Cullman, 7-6. Etowah then lost to Muscle Shoals, 10-2.

 Bluff and Sardis both went 0-2 at the Class 4A North Central Tournament in Tuscaloosa. The Lady Eagles lost to Cleburne County, 6-2, and St. Clair County, 6-5, while the Lady Lions fell to Oneonta, 12-2, and Lincoln, 7-6. 

In the North Regional Class 2A Tournament, West End opened with a 6-0 win over Cherokee before losing to Hatton, 6-2, and Sand Rock, 8-1.
