Westbrook Christian continues in AHSSA baseball playoffs

Westbrook Christian won the first round of playoffs against Cherokee County on Friday.

In the first game the Warriors won 4-0. Jacob Maples Jacob Maples went 3-3 with one RBI and scored two runs and one double. Brooks Whiteside went 1-1 when an RBI, double and scored one run. Brady Carden, Wil Chadwick and Dalton Helms also had hits. Emmett Daniels led on the mound throwing a complete game seven inning shutout, allowing only one hit and striking out 12, he earned the win, according to Ricky Ray Clanton, WBS baseball coach.

In the second game the Warriors defeated Cherokee County 10-0. Wil Chadwick went 3-3 with two doubles, three RBIs and scoring one run. Brady Carden went 2-4 with a HR, two RBIs and two runs. Brodie Johnson hit a double, and Brody Blevins and Jacob Maples both hit triples. Emmett Daniels also had a hit. Brodie Johnson led on the mound throwing a complete game shutout, only allowing two hits and striking out eight, according to Clanton.

The Warriors will now face off against Madison County on April 30 at Madison County
