Following a special election victory in late 2012 to succeed former Rep. Blaine Galliher in House District 30, Rep. Mack Butler announced his intentions to seek a full term in the 2014 Election Cycle.

A small businessman who placed an added emphasis on job creation and improving Alabama’s economy during the special election, Butler plans to continue to make those issues the centerpiece of his reelection bid along with continuing to support efforts to cut wasteful spending, protect the rights of the unborn and defending the state from the overreach of the federal government,

“The people of House District 30 can count on me to continue my mission to create jobs and improve our economy as their representative.”  Butler added, “I was proud to support the Republican ‘We Dare Defend Our Rights’ legislative agenda in my first session in Montgomery.  Cutting wasteful spending, protecting the rights of the unborn, preserving the Second Amendment and defending our great state from the current overreach of the federal government by President Obama and the Washington liberals are issues that are deeply important to me.  I pledge to work as diligently as possible to champion these efforts in Montgomery.”

Butler also cited legislation limiting the liability for companies like Airbus to assist with industrial recruitment and bolstering the Gulf State Park as bills he was particularly proud to support.  “Fostering a pro business environment in our state enhances our ability to grow existing industry as well as attract new industry.  This has been and will continue to be my top priority as your representative.”

Butler is married to his wife, Connie, for 29 years and they are parents of 4 children and have been small business owners for over 28 years. Butler served on the Etowah County Board d of Ed for over 10 years and is a past county Republican Party chairman serving 2 terms. The Butlers attend CrossPoint community Church.
