Air Bear?

That could be the case this season for Class 3A Plainview, which has a good throwing quarterback and a legion of receivers.

“Their skill players will be some of the best we’ll see this season,” said Glencoe coach Lee Ozmint. “They can all play any skill position and are interchangeable. And the quarterback is one of the best throwing ones we’ll see.”

The signal-caller is William Pruitt, the grandson of long-time coach Dale Pruitt.

The Bears, like the Yellow Jackets, are senior-laden, so Ozmint is looking for a good contest.

“We’re a seasoned bunch too,” he said. “So it could be a very interesting game.”

Add to that mix a Bear linebacker – Anthony Glover – who Ozmint said is one of the best he’s ever seen at the high school level. Glover, at 6-1, 230, also plays tight end.

“He’s one of the best athletes we’ll see all year,” Ozmint said. “He looks like a Division I prospect.”
