Carla Clemmons scored 18 points and Morgan Jones added 14 points and seven rebounds as the Gadsden State women’s basketball team posted a 77-66 victory over Southern Union on Thursday (Mar. 5) in the Alabama Community College Conference Tournament quarterfinals at Faulkner State in Bay Minette.

The Lady Cardinals (25-5) will face Lawson State on Friday (Mar. 6) at 1 p.m. in the tournament semifinals. The state championship game is set for 2 p.m. on Saturday. 

Clemmons, who shot 82 percent (9-for-11) from the field, also had five rebounds.

Jaide Walker chipped in nine points, while Jordan Gray had seven.

Austin Richardson contributed five points, four rebounds and four assists, while Kaelyn Irby collected seven rebounds and six assists.
