A pair of local student-athletes were nominated for the Alabama Sports Writers Association Player of the Week award and the Alabama High School Athletic Association Prep Spotlight for Week 10 of the 2012 high school football season.

Westbrook Christian senior quarterback Jonathan Ford was 12-of-26 passing for 181 yards and three touchdowns and ran 10 times for 113 yards in the Warriors’ 28-21 victory over Hokes Bluff on Nov. 2.

Coosa Christian senior halfback Austin Mills rushed seven times for 198 yards and three touchdowns and added a 63-yard punt return in the Conquerors’ 37-0 win over Southeastern on Nov. 2.
