Area runners place in top 10 at Munford 5K

Hokes Bluff’s Ethan Patterson finished fourth out of 102 runners with a time of 17:03.38 in the Class 1A-4A division at the Munford Invitational 5K on Saturday, Sept. 23. Also placing in the top 10 was Ashville’s Ryan Matthews, who came in sixth at 17:42.86.
In the girls’ race, Hokes Bluff’s Emma Godfrey (pictured above) finished sixth out of 78 runners with a time of 21:12.76. Right on Godfrey Heels in seventh place was Glencoe’s Sarah Ponder, who clocked in at 21:13.58. Ashville’s Allie Cone rounded out the top 10 at 22:18.78, while teammate Taylor Knight placed 13th at 22:33.35.
