Oneonta scored nine runs in the sixth innings to rally past Etowah, 14-9, on April 6 in Attalla. For the Lady Blue Devils, Laura Wood went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, three RBI and a run scored; Jaleigh Devine went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored; Maggy Bennett went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored; Sydney Simpson went 2-for-4 and Chloe Kelley had a hit and two RBI.

An 11-run seventh inning paved the way for Gaston’s 17-4 victory over Asbury on April 6. For the Lady Bulldogs, Randi Morgan went 3-for-5 with two doubles, three RBI and two runs scored; Brooke Whitten went 4-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored; Makenzie McCarver and Chole Pence Brown each went 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored; Lexi Ponce had a hit, three RBI and a run scored; Meleah Crane had two hits and two RBI and Emma Samples had a hit and three runs scored. Ponce earned the win on the mound, scattering nine hits, three earned runs and six walks while striking out four.

A four-run fourth inning proved to be the difference in Sardis’ 6-4 victory over Class 5A Area 13 rival Southside on April 5 in Sardis City. For the Lady Lions, Annah Kate Waldrep had two doubles and an RBI, Kytha Edwards had a two-RBI base hit and Barit Snead had a hit, and RBI and a run scored. For the Lady Panthers, Rylann Shaw went 2-for-4 with a run scored, while Maddie Griffith had a hit, and RBI and two runs scored.

Sparked by Lexi St. John’s solid pitching effort, Ashville posted a 6-1 victory over Ragland on April 4. St. John allowed one hit, one runs and one walk while striking out 11 in seven innings. She helped he cause by going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Also at the plate for the Lady Bulldogs, Rachel St. John went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored and Brooklyn Mikus and Annalynn Williamson each went 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Hokes Bluff scored five runs in both the second and third innings on the way to a 14-1 victory in five innings over Collinsville on April 4. For the Lady Eagles, Kayla Traylor went 3-for-4 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored, Savannah Garrett each went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBI and Peyton Ward went 3-for-3 with an RBI.

Sydney Simpson’s one-hit, 12-strkeout performance spearheaded Etowah’s 2-0 victory over Class 4A, Area 12 rival Oneonta on April 4. Maggy Bennett and Lauren Farmer each had a hit and an RBI for the Lady Blue Devils (16-10).

Trailing by seven runs entering the bottom of the sixth, Southside put across eight runs over the final two innings to edge Sardis, 8-7 in a Class 5A Area 13 matchup on April 4.
Bailey Houston, Jasie Brooks, Ava Ramsey, Peyton Burrell and Lauren McKee scored in the sixth to draw the Lady Panthers (16-13) within 7-5. After Jalyn Allen retired the Lady Lions in order in the top of the seventh, Rylann Shaw scored off an error in the bottom of the inning to make it a one-run game with Southside down to its final out. With Jovi Marble at the plate and down to her last strike, Maddie Griffith scored off an error to tie the game and Kadey Barbe came home on a passed ball for the winning run. Griffith went 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Barbe and Houston each went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. For Sardis, Val Owens went 2-for4-4 with two doubles and two RBI; Ahhah Kate Waldrep went 2-for-5 with a triple, two RBI and a run scored; Jayda Lacks went 2-for-3 with two runs scored; and Vada Wilmore went 2-for-3 with an RBI double and a run scored.

Gaston finished with 18 hits, including four for extra bases, in a 23-9 victory in five innings over Gadsden City on April 4 at GCHS. For the Lady Bulldogs, Emma Samples had a home run, five RBI and a run scored; Makenzie McCarver went 2-for-3 with three RBI and three runs scored; Randi Morgan went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored; Brook Whitten went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored; Lauren Herd went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored; Meleah Crane went 2-for-2 with an RBI and five runs scored; Kiana Green had a two-RBI double and a run scored; Chloe Pence Brown had a hit, an RBI and three runs scored and Lexi Ponce had a hit, an RBI and two runs scored. For the Lady Titans, Raina Underwood went 2-for-2 with a home run, four RBI and two runs scored; Jada Odom had a two-RBI double.

Sparked by a complete-game pitching effort from Maddie Harris, Sardis posted a 7-1 victory over Oneonta on April 3 in Sardis City. In seven innings, Harris allowed three hits, one earned run and no walks while striking out four. At the plate for the Lady Lions, Val Owens and Baylor Gilmer each hit a home run with an RBI and a run scored; Kytha Edwards went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored; Annah Kate Waldrep went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored; Jayda Lacks went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Kayden Tarvin had a double and a run scored.

Coosa Christian outscored Talladega County Central by a combined margin of 34-0 in a pair of recent wins.
On Apr. 1, the Lady Conquerors posted a16-0 victory in three innings at the West End Round Robin Tournament. For Coosa, Kaitlyn Clough went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored; Zowie Morris went 1-for-2 with three RBI and two runs scored; Evelyn Nowak went 1-for-2 with two RBI and wo runs scored; and Alyssa Elliott had two RBI and two runs scored. Nowak earned the win in three innings, allowing one hit while striking out eight. She did not issue a walk.
On Apr. 3, the Lady Conquerors won by a score of 18-0 in three innings at Talladega. Morris went 2-or-3 with three RBI and three runs scored; Clough went 1-for-2 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored; Jillian Delp went 1-for-2 with a double and two runs scored; and Nowak and A.J. Holman each scored three runs. Clough limited TCC to three hits and one walk while fanning eight.

Sydney Simpson threw a one-hitter in Etowah’s 8-0 shutout over the GPS Bruisers on April 1 at the Bob Jones Tournament in Madison. Simpson struck out 12 in five innings. She helped her cause with a hit, and RBI and a run scored. Also for the Lady Blue Devils (15-10), Maggy Bennett went 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored; Lauren Farmer went 2-for-2 with two RBI and a run scored; Laura Wood went 2-for-3 with a double; Chloe Kelley had a wo-RBI base hit and a run scored and Elizabeth Gilliland had a hit, an RBI and two runs scored.

Etowah defeated DAR, 7-1, on March 30 at the Bob Jones Tournament on in Madison. For the Lady Blue Devils, Bella Owen went 3-for-3 with an RBI double and a run scored; Jaleigh Devine went 3-for-4 with two run scored; Lauren Farmer went 2-for-2 with a double and a run scored; Maggy Bennet had a three-run double and Gracie Johnson went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two run scored. Elizabeth Gilliland earned the win in five innings, allowing three hits and one walk with three strikeouts.
