Clark, Vann lead the way for GSCC in Oakville

Jordan Clark and Ashton Vann finished as the top runners for the Gadsden State cross country teams at the Calhoun Warhawk Invitational on Oct. 13 in Oakville.
The GSCC men finished eight out of 15 teams, while the Lady Cardinals came in ninth out of 12.
Clark placed 14th out of 99 runners in the women’s 5K with a time of 20:54.37, while Vann’s time of 28:45.62 was good for 32nd place out of 123 competitors in the men’s 8K.
Following Clark for the Gadsden State women were Lexi Byrd in 34th at 22:31.74, Gaby More in 41st at 22:52.70, Keira Johnson in 42nd at 22:54.75, Lacey Rich in 49th at 23:44.96 and McKinley Kay in 52nd at 23:52.51.
After Vann for the Cardinals were Lane Griffin in 52nd at 30:06.59, DeShaun Foster in 57th at 30:10.04, Conner Strawn in 62nd at 30:23.70, Travis Cooley in 66th at 31:17.15 and Jonah Medders (pictured above) in 68th at 31:29.77.
Gadsden State will compete in the Alabama Community College Conference/NJCAA Region 22 Meet on October 27 in Huntsville.
