Hokes Bluff defeated Etowah County neighbor and Class 3A Region 6 rival Glencoe, 47-7 on Sept. 15 at HBHS. It was the Eagles’ eighth straight win in the series.
For Hokes Bluff (1-1, 1-0), Blain Barron rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries. Alex Carter ran seven times for 79 yards and a score, while Bryce Whitaker gained 69 yards on eight a=carries.
Coleman McGinnis finished with nine tackles, followed by Colten Shields with eight, Mason Howell with seven and Anderson Morgan with four. Morgan also ahd an interception, while Shields had a sack.
Both teams resume region action this Friday (Sept. 15) Hokes Bluff travels to Geraldine, while the Yellow Jackets (1-1, 0-1) visit Westbrook Christian.
