Eagles’ Robertson, Lions’ Pee recognized

A pair of local student-athletes were nominated for both the Alabama Sports Writers Association Offensive Player of the Week and the Alabama High School Athletic Association’s Prep Spotlight for Week 5 of the 2012 football season.

Hokes Bluff senior quarterback Brad Robertson passed for two touchdowns and ran two others in the Eagles’ 27-24 overtime win over Etowah County rival Glencoe. The senior quarterback passed for the game-tying TD with 22 seconds left in regulation and ran in the winning TD on the first play of Hokes Bluff’s overtime possession. He completed 8-of-20 passes for 119 yards.

Sardis senior running back scored four touchdowns, three rushing and one receiving, in the Lions’ 36-21 win over Geraldine. Pee finished with 122 rushing yards on 22 carries.
