Gadsden State holds pinning ceremony

The Gadsden State Community College Division of Health Sciences recognized students earning their associate degree in Registered Nursing during a recent pinning ceremony with speakers Matt Cleghorn, class president, and Gracie Berry, class chaplain.
The 2023 program graduates are:
Serena Acosta of Ashville; Gracie Berry of Attalla; Miranda Kilgore of Boaz; Brianna Morgan of Carrollton, Ga.; Raina Richardson of Carrollton, Ga.; Alicia McGill of Cave Springs, Ga.; Krista Gay of Cedartown, Ga.; Khristen Lanham of Cedartown, Ga.; Daisy Ramirez of Cedartown, Ga.; Chelsea Kerr of Centre; Makayla Ollis of Fruithurst; Alexis Burton of Gadsden; Lindsy Winters of Gadsden; Katie Cova of Munford; Matt Cleghorn of Oxford; Jessica Nichols of Oxford; Kalleigh Hanson of Panama City Beach, Fla.; Courtney Johnson of Ragland; Madison Vaughn of Rainbow City; Clair Duffie of Roanoke; Alexandra Gonzalez of Rome, Ga.; Ian Sinclair of Sand Rock; Torren Dean of Silver Creek, Ga.; Lauren Hanvey of Southside; Sheree Harvel of Southside; Tara Pearson of Springville; Hunter Bryant of Summerville, Ga.; Cedriauna Montgomery of Talladega; Tyler Stafford of Waldron, Ark.; and Ashley Brooks of Weaver.
The Excellence in Academic Achievement Award, which recognizes the nursing graduate having the highest grade point average, was awarded to Alexis Burton.
Maria Dixon, Courtney Johnson and Lindsy Winters all received the Academic Achievement Award, which re-cognizes those students with above-average grades and performance.
Winters was also the recipient of the highly-coveted Florence Nightingale Award, which recognizes those who are the most committed to caring and compassionate nursing care.
