Four players scored in double figures as Gadsden State extended its unbeaten streak to 6-0 with an 86-59 win over Wallace State-Selma on Wednesday, Nov. 13 Beck Gymnasium.
Cristian Willis paced the Cardinals with 14 points, followed by Keshawn Watkins with 13, Giovanni Nannucci with 12 and Demarreon Baldwin with 10. Shannon Jones added eight points, while Jaden Jones chipped in seven and Braden Duckworth contributed six.
Watkins pulled down 12 rebounds, followed by Mekhi Fitts (pictured above) with 10 and Baldwin with nine. Nannucci dealt out seven assists, while Jones distributed six.
On Nov. 11, Fitts and Keishawn Morris both had double-doubles as the Cardinals edged Snead State, 76-74 at Beck Gymnasium. Fitts finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Watkins had 15 points and 10 boards. Nannucci scored 18 points, followed by Jones with eight, Willis with six and Baldwin with five. Baldwin and Duckworth grabbed six and five rebounds, respectively, while Jones distributed four assists.
On Nov. 8, four players scored in double figures in Gadsden State’s 96-93 victory over East Georgia State. Watkins paced the Cardinals with 27 points, followed by Willis with 19 and Baldwin and Fitts with 18 each. Fitts pulled down eight rebounds, followed by Baldwin and Watkins with seven each and Willis with five. Nannucci added six points and four assists.
On Nov. 7, Gadsden State beat Gordon (Ga.) State, 88-78. Watkins and Wills each scored 22 points, with Watkins clearing 11 rebounds and Willis grabbing four. Fitts registered a double-double of 18 points and 17 rebounds, while Baldwin and Jones both chipping in nine points. Nannucci added eight points and five assists.
