Gadsden’s Walker to coach Decatur High boys basketball

Gadsden State men’s basketball coach Deddrick Tarver has a significant hole to fill on his staff.
This past week, Kory Walker, Tarver’s top assistant and a 1999 Gadsden High School graduate, was hired as boys head basketball coach at Class 6A Decatur High School.
Gadsden State went 52-41 with Walker on the bench, with 11 players signing with four-year schools.
After graduating from Gadsden High, Walker (pictured above) played basketball at Lawson State in Birmingham from 1999-2001. After graduating from Jacksonville State, he was an assistant coach for the Gadsden City High girls and boys varsity basketball teams and was boys and girls head coach at Litchfield Middle.
The 2019-20 Gadsden State men’s basketball team went
16-13 overall and 4-10 in the Alabama Community College Conference.
