GCHS students compete at Special Olympics track meet

Gadsden City High School students competed in a Special Olympics track meet last week, participating in events including the 50- and 100-meter dashes and the softball throw. Ernestina Martinez competed in the 100-meter dash and softball throw; Ramon Rodriguez competed in the same events; and Lainey Mackey and Reggie Rogers took part in the 50-meter dash and softball throw. Also competing was Jack Carr in the 100-meter dash and softball throw. According to Special Olympics coach Christine Lowery, Gadsden City High School participants “had a great time” at the meet.
