Florida’s spectacular season came to an unceremonious conclusion earlier this week at the College World Series in Omaha, Neb. The Gators were upset, 2-1, by Coastal Carolina in the tournament’s opening game. It was the Chanticleers’ first-ever CWS victory. Florida then played Texas Tech in an elimination game, and the Red Raiders knocked the Gators out of the tournament with a 3-2 victory. Florida finished the season with a 52-16 record.
