Lady Cardinals drop pair to Wallace State

Wallace State-Hanceville Community College swept Gadsden State Community College in a women’s softball doubleheader at Gadsden State on April 4. The Lions defeated the Lady Cardinals, 8-0 and 8-1, respectively.

Amber Mosely led Gadsden State’s offense in the opener, batting 2-for-3. Haley Kokoszka and Rachel Stewart each slapped a hit for the Lady Cardinals.

Kendall Bishop was charged with the loss. Bishop pitched three innings, surrendering four hits and two earned runs.

Stewart led Gadsden State’s offensive attack in the second game, batting 3-for-4 with a run scored. Kokoszka batted 1-for-3, driving in Stewart in the bottom half of the fourth inning to give the Lady Cardinals’ their lone run of the day.

Courtney Buzbee was charged with the loss for Gadsden State. Buzbee pitched three innings, earning one strikeout while surrendering three earned runs.

Gadsden State dropped to 7-26, 0-5 on the season.
