Local football players recognized by ASWA

Three area players were recognized in the Alabama High School Athletic Association’s Prep Spotlight for Week 3 of the 2015 high school football season.

Glencoe senior quarterback Chase Wilson completed 11-of 20-passes for 192 yards and three scores, including the game-winning 28-yard touchdown pass to Pace Ozmint with 28 seconds left in the game, while rushing 11 times for 77 yards and a touchdown as the Yellow Jackets rallied past Westbrook Christian, 50-43.

Gadsden City senior quarterback Ahmad DeRamus was 9-of-11 passing for 163 yards and three touchdowns, all in the first half, and rushed for 51 yards and a fourth TD in the Titans’ 51-7 victory over Grissom.

Etowah senior running back Stacy Williams rushed 22 times for 146 yards and two touchdowns, including the winning score in overtime, as the Blue Devils nipped Randolph, 21-20.
