Local players featured in Week 6 Prep Football Spotlight

Several area football players were recognized in the Alabama High School Athletic Association’s Prep Spotlight for Week 6 of the 2018 season.
Coosa Christian senior quarterback Caiden Lipscomb was 27-of-50 passing for 429 yards and three touchdowns (66, 24 and 14 yards) in the Conquerors’ 70-27 loss to Falkville. Junior receiver Evan Delp caught eight of Lipscomb’s passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns.
Hokes Bluff junior quarterback Ashton Gulledge (pictured above) was 7-of-13 in passing for 148 yards and two touchdowns of 65 and 34 yards to Braydon Hill in the Eagles’ 52-0 win over Ashville. Gulledge also rushed four times for 70 yards, including a 47-yard TD, to finish with 218 total yards.
Southside senior running back Kenneth Bothwell, Jr., rushed for three touchdowns and caught a 38-yard TD pass in the Panthers’63-0 win over Douglas.
