Patriots come up short against Locust Fork

West End finished of its Class 2A Region 6 slate with a 51-12 loss to Locust Fork on Oct. 27 in walnut Grove.
The Patriots (5-4, 3-3) scored at 9:35 of the second quarter on Marty Wooten’s 66-yard touchdown pass to Triston Chaney and at 7:10 of the third quarter on Chaney’s 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
Wooten (pictured above) was 4 for 7 in passing for 88 yards. Rock Sainsbury rushed for 85 yards on 18 carries. Chaney had two receptions for 74 yards, while Jackson Mayo caught two passes for 14 yards.
Drake McDevitt had a fumble recovery.
As the region’s fourth playoff seed, West End travels to Fyffe on Nov. 10 for the first round of the state playoffs. The Patriots wrap up the regular season at Glencoe on Friday in non-region action.
