Pleasant Valley pulls away from West End

With the score tied 14-14 midway through the second quarter, Pleasant Valley scored 20 unanswered points to hand the Patriots a 34-14 loss in Class 2A, Region 6 action on Sept. 8 in Jacksonville
Rock Sainsbury’s 1-yard touchdown run and Jace Golden’s PAT at 1:21 of the first quarter provided West End with a 7-6 lead.
The Red Raiders found the end zone early in the second period to go ahead 14-7 before Jaxon Hamby ran it in from 17 yards out with less than seven minutes remaining until halftime.
That turned out to be the highwater mark for the Patriots, as Pleasant Valley scored three consecutive touchdowns to win going away.
Hamby finished with 106 rushing yards on 20 carries, while Sainsbury (pictured above) ran 15 times for 71 yards.
Kane Lawson had two receptions.
West End continues region play this Friday (Sept. 15) at home against Southeastern.
