Scissum, Skaggs have stellar nights as Etowah, Gaston win

Senior quarterback Jameson Scissum finished off his high school football career with a 432-yard, six-touchdown performance in Etowah’s 57-32 victory over Lincoln on Friday, Nov. 1 at Lincoln.
Scissum (pictured above at left) was 13 for 16 in passing for 316 yards and three TDs and ran for 116 yards and three scores on 14 carries. Fellow senior Dae Dae Devine rushed for 118 yards on 10 carries and had three receptions for 116 yards and a score.
Also for the Blue Devils (4-6, 3-4), Zayden Knight caught six passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns, while Lamont Richardson had two receptions for 38 yards and a touchdown.

Gaston ended its season on a winning note with a 44-12 victory over Class 2A Region 8 rival Ider on Friday, Nov. 1 at Ider.
For the Bulldogs (3-7, 1-5) Keller Skaggs rushed for 158 yards and four touchdowns on eight carries for a 20-yard per carry average. He also scored two 2-point conversion runs and had 10 tackles on defense.
Conner Humphrey carries nine times for 86 yards and a score, while Nate Oliver gained 68 yards on eight attempts. Chapman Clay was 3 for 8 in passing for 40 yards. Kodie Bogles caught a touchdown pass and returned a kickoff for a score.
