Southside dispatches Hokes Bluff, 54-33

Southside improved to 5-2 on the year with a 54-33 road win over Etowah County rival Hokes Bluff on Thursday, Dec. 5. Parker Crask led all scorers with 14 points off the bench while pulling down four rebounds. Michael Rich, Jr., scored nine points and grabbed six rebounds as the Panthers outscored the Eagles 36-16 in the paint. Southside led 10-3 after the first quarter, 20-12 at halftime and 37-20 after the third period. Chris Lengyel (pictured above at left) scored eight points and dished out three assists for the Panthers, while Owen Westcott chipped in six points in his first career start. The Panthers open area play on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at home against Alexandria.
