Southside XC teams finish runner-up at Wildcat Fall Classic

Southside finished runner-up in both the boys and girls’ 5K runs in the Class 4A-7A division at the Wildcat Fall Classic on Saturday, Oct. 14 in Anniston.
For the boys, Evan Christopher (pictured above) placed second out of 107 runners with a time of 16:07.44. For the girls, Taylor Dortch’s time of 21:30.78 was good for third place out of 103 competitors.
Also placing in the top 10 for the Panthers were Max Valentine (sixth, 17:48. 17) and Tanner Griggs (seventh, 17:48.87) for the boys and Marlee Tucker (fifth, 21:55.81) for the girls.
Four Lady Panthers finished in the top 25 – Adalyn Phillips in 13th at 23:22.37, Lucy Valentine in 17th at 23:42.23, Mallory Tucker in 19th at 23:53.28 and Zoie Menk in 23rd at 24:19.30.
Matthew Battles placed 23rd for the boys at 19:13.96.
