Entering his 20th year in journalism, Chris has been with The Messenger since January of 2008. He worked as the paper’s sports editor for three years before being promoted to Publisher/Managing Editor in January 2011. Under his direction, The Messenger has become the premium local news source for Etowah County. The paper has received recognition from the Alabama Press Association, the Gadsden/Etowah Chamber of Commerce and several local municipalities and schools for its work in the community.
Chris has won several APA Better Newspaper Contest awards, including Best Single Event Sports Story. Prior to his hiring at The Messenger, Chris was sports editor at the Cherokee County Herald in Centre for seven years.
Chris is a native of East Islip, New York and a 1997 graduate of Northern Illinois University. He and his wife Kristi, who is a graduate of Southside High School and the University of Alabama, live in Rainbow City with daughters Meghan and Kathleen.
