Kaitlin Hoskins

Kaitlin Hoskins, formerly Fleming, is a native of Attalla, Ala. and a 2014 graduate of Etowah High School.

She is also a 2016 graduate of Gadsden State Community College and a 2020 graduate of Jacksonville State University. While at Jacksonville State University, she majored in digital journalism and minored in English.

During her time at Jacksonville State, Hoskins hosted radio shows on 91.9 FM, the university’s student-led radio station, and wrote for The Chanticleer, the university’s student-led newspaper. She served as editor-in-chief of The Chanticleer for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Hoskins first began her career in journalism as an Alabama Press Association intern at The Messenger  in 2015.  After her summer internship, she worked as a part-time reporter and co-editor of a quarterly magazine for The Messenger until December of 2019. She then firstly served as a copyeditor, then reporter and finally assistant news editor at The Anniston Star until October of 2021, when she accepted the job of managing editor of the newspaper division of Tallapoosa Publishers, Inc.

Hoskins returned home to The Messenger on May 15, 2023.

She married her high school sweetheart, Don Hoskins, in April 2023. The couple lives in Ashville with their three cats.

In her spare time, Hoskins loves to read, spend time with her family and write creatively.
