Warriors finish first, Yellow Jackets second at golf sub-state playoff

The Westbrook Christian and Glencoe High boys golf teams finished first and second, respectively, at the Class 3A North sub-state playoff on Tuesday (May 3) at Silver Lakes.

Both teams will compete in the state tournament this Monday and Tuesday (May 9-10) at Hampton Cove in Huntsville. 

The Warriors finished with an overall 300 score, while the Yellow Jackets shot 318. 

Westbrook’s John Hilliard Catanzaro was second in individual play with a 71 score, while Will Weathington was tied for third with Glencoe’s Jack Sims at 73.  

Also for the Warriors, Harrison Martin shot a 76 score, followed by J.P. Pirani with 80 and Jackson Bowman with 90. Competing in individual play, Jared Patterson shot 83.

Following Sims for Glencoe were Brock McNeely with a 75 score, Ethan Womack with 80, Andrew Lang with 90 and Jeremiah Ward with 116.
