Westbrook Christian has a tough defensive assignment against the Red Raiders. That is, the Warriors must to stop the run, first and foremost.

“(Pleasant Valley) is pretty much a running team,” Westbrook coach Tony Osborne said. “They work out of the shotgun but run about 75-80 percent of the time.”

Defensively, the Raiders line up in a number of formations, focused mainly on stopping the passing game.

Even though Pleasant Valley was beaten badly by Wellborn, the Raiders defeated Weaver the week before, and that impresses Osborne.

“It’s hard to tell much about them from last week’s film,” he said. “But the previous week, you can tell they’ve got a good team.”

Westbrook and Pleasant Valley currently are in a four-way tie for second place in Class 3A, Region 6 along with Wellborn and Weaver.

Last week against Glencoe, quarterback Justis Glassford was 4-for-17 in passing for 58 yards. Jake Christenberry and Chris Underwood each had two catches. Un-derwood had 11 tackles on defense.
