Warriors rush past Section for homecoming win

Westbrook Christian finished with over 300 rushing yards while holding Section to 53 en route to a 56-22 victory in the Warriors’ homecoming on Sept. 29 in Rainbow City.
Leading 32-12 at halftime, Westbrook outscored the Lions 24-0 in the second half.
Drew Whittemore paced Westbrook with 95 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. Greyson Carroll ran seven times for 70 yards, while Maximus Jones gained 49 yards on six attempts.
Jerry Zeringue carried 10 times for 43 yards, while Hunter Arnold rushed for 41 yards on four totes.
Carroll was 4 for 11 on passing for 45 yards and two touchdowns. Lamycal Mitchell had two receptions for 22 yards and a touchdown.
Reed Barber kicked a pair of 32-yard field goals and went 6 for 6 on extra points.
Max Legg had eight tackles, followed by Eggo Alabbasi with seven, Noah Wright with six and Ethan Daffron with five.
Wright, Ben Morrison, Jake Haney and Brax Denney each had a sack.
